The Guatemala San Martin Jilotepeque from the FIRSTCRACK Roastery consists of fine beans of the Typica and Bourbon varieties. The word "Jilotepeque" comes from the language of central Mexico and was brought to the area with the indigenous peoples. The word consists of "xilotl" (corn on the cob) and "Tepetl" (hill) - so it means something like the hill of the corn cobs.
Hand roasted beans with notes of honey and butterscotch
The high-quality coffee was grown by the Cooperative Flor del Cafe San Martineca in the Chimaltenango region. The low rainfall and temperate climate create perfect climatic conditions for growing coffee. In addition to coffee, avocados, plums and plantains also grow there. The beans are harvested between January and April. The beans were washed and roasted by hand in the Berlin roastery. The taste is aromatic with notes of chocolate, butterscotch and honey.
