Fertilized by volcanic ash
To roast the Guatemala Santa Katharina Geisha, the Berlin roastery FIRSTCRACK uses green coffee from the Katharina Pacaya farm in the Petén department in Guatemala. About 1250 meters above sea level, the Reitzel family runs a coffee farm and grows plants of the popular Arabica Geisha variety. The conditions couldn't be better: the soil is regularly supplied with nutrients by the ash from the Pacaya volcano and the climate is also perfect. Washed and processed, the raw beans find their way directly into the FIRSTCRACK drum roaster in Berlin.
Roasting and Flavor
FIRSTCRACK roasts the high-quality beans from Guatemala with great care and attention to detail. The developed roast profile elicits a taste experience from the coffee that is reminiscent of nougat, apricot or almond cake. An elegant, fine taste can be expected from Arabica coffee of the Geisha variety, which captivates with floral-sweet and rather lovely fruity notes. The washed preparation creates a particularly clearly nuanced taste profile in which the individual aromas are clearly recognizable.
