The Ionic teapot has a cylindrical body with a handle and a spout. It is made of porcelain and much of the body has a ribbed structure which, unlike the rest of the jug, is rougher and unglazed. This creates a nice contrast between different textures, both visually and haptically.

The Carl Henkel Ionic is particularly practical in everyday life. Due to the shape of the handle, the jug sits particularly well in the hand when pouring. Because the handle is hollow, it doesn't get hot. The silicone ring on the lid ensures that the lid always stays in place when pouring, with or without the filter inserted. The filter sits perfectly in the opening of the jug and can be pulled out using a small tab. All parts of the Ionic are dishwasher safe and apart from the stainless steel sieve, everything can be put in the microwave. The pot should not be heated empty on a warmer.
