WHY YOU SHOULD STORE COFFEE PROPERLY

Simply storing coffee beans or ground coffee in the coffee packaging without sealing it airtight is not enough. Proper storage of coffee is essential to ensure that it retains as many flavors as possible until its best-before date. The general rule is: store your coffee beans in a cool, dry place! If you also want to enjoy your coffee longer and minimize flavor loss, you can store the beans in a coffee bag, in a container made of porcelain, for example, or even in an airtight coffee tin with vacuum function. Below you will learn helpful tips for coffee storage and you can discover the range of storage options for your beans at Aromatico.

COFFEE STORAGE IN AN AIRTIGHT COFFEE CANISTER

Fellow's vacuum canisters seal the coffee beans airtight, which offers a huge advantage as oxygen ensures that odors, the flavor as well as the aroma escape from the beans. In coffee cans, the beans are thus protected from oxygen and light, so that the oxidation process proceeds more slowly. In addition, a coffee can protects your coffee from moisture. It is therefore worth decanting your coffee into a vacuum can or storing it in an airtight container, which ideally also protects it from the effects of light and heat to ensure aroma protection.

Foreign odors are also avoided by storing the coffee in such a coffee container, especially compared to storing the coffee in the refrigerator, where the odor of other foods can transfer to the coffee and make it undrinkable.

DRY AND PROTECTED FROM LIGHT

If you do not have a coffee can with a vacuum function, you can also use a storage can be made of odorless porcelain, for example, as a place to store your coffee beans or coffee powder. The coffee beans as well as ground coffee powder can be stored here, protected from light and dry. However, the easiest storage is still simply in the coffee bag itself, which is closed with a freshness clip as soon as it is opened.

Our Aromatico tip if you don't have a coffee tin handy: When using the coffee, cut the packaging at the bottom and then close it with a freshness clip. The aroma valve, which is located at the top, usually in the middle of the packaging, thus remains in use longer and carbon dioxide can continuously escape from the aroma valve.

Buy a coffee can and enjoy the taste and smell of your coffee beans longer thanks to optimal coffee storage. In this way, you can store the coffee for months and still enjoy the great flavors for a long time.
