HOW DOES THE ESPRESSO STOVE GASKET WORK?
An espresso maker, for example from the Bialetti brand, requires a seal so that the necessary pressure for preparation is created in the lower water reservoir of the maker. The sealing ring of the Bialetti espresso maker ensures that when the upper and lower parts of the espresso pot are tightly screwed together, no hot water or steam can escape during cooking. Only under these conditions is the required steam pressure created for perfect coffee enjoyment. The water is then forced through the portafilter and the espresso powder into the upper part of the espresso pot via the riser tube.
WHEN DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE BIALETTI SEAL?
Steam pressure, heat, mechanical pressure from twisting on and off, and equally harsh cleaning agents are all factors that can affect the durability of the gaskets. However, there is no rule of thumb for replacing the Bialetti seal. But our experience has shown that replacing the rubber seal is recommended about every 10 to 12 months. In any case, you should not wait until the espresso maker gasket is brittle and hot water, steam or espresso is leaking from the espresso maker fittings. For this case, we offer in our store various original spare parts of the brand Bialetti. For example, a spare parts set of the brand Bialetti consists of a seal set with 3 spare seals and a filter for the classic Bialetti Moka Express, which is made of aluminum. Discover with us the right gasket for your Bialetti and ensure a tasty coffee experience.
HOW DO I PROPERLY CARE FOR THE BIALETTI GASKET?
- Tightening - Please tighten the espresso maker carefully and not too tightly, and make sure in advance that the seal is properly seated and that it is not improperly squeezed in the screw thread.
- Cleaning - Please do not use harsh cleaning agents. They will attack the plastic of the gasket, aging it faster and making it brittle, porous and fragile.
- Cooling down - Please always allow the espresso maker to cool down a little before disassembling it. When hot, the espresso maker seal is more susceptible to mechanical damage when unscrewing the pot.
- Washing out and drying - Please wash the gasket with cold water after making espresso and cooling down. Then dry the espresso maker gasket with a towel without bending, lying flat.
When purchasing a new espresso maker gasket, such as a Bialetti gasket, please ensure that the gasket is the correct size. We at Aromatico will be happy to answer any questions you may have!
