Heavy roast
The Hoppenworth & Ploch Espresso Blend is a classic espresso roast, which consists of a mixture of 60 % Arabica beans and 40 % Robusta beans. Thanks to the careful selection of the green coffee and the dark degree of roasting, the espresso blend unfolds a flavor profile that seems traditional. In the cup there are concise roasted aromas reminiscent of dark chocolate. There are also floral nuances with only slightly perceptible acidity. Thanks to the dark roast and the Robusta content, the cover creates a thick crema that makes the espresso heart beat faster.
Great trio
The Frankfurt roastery Hoppenworth & Ploch chose three unique green coffees for the espresso blend. A dry-processed Arabica coffee from Brazil serves as a solid basis. The Brazilian Arabica beans give the espresso classic aromas. The Robusta beans used come from India, more precisely from the Elk Hill plantation in Kerala. They give the blend a particularly full body, a very rich crema, spicy aromas and, last but not least, a slightly higher caffeine content than pure Arabica coffees. The blend is rounded off by washed, prepared Arabica coffee beans from Guatemala. The beans from the Santa Isabel Farm give the blend floral notes that make the espresso a unique composition. The whole beans can be freshly ground for preparation in the portafilter or used in the fully automatic machine. Various preparations can also be made easily in the stovetop jug, the Ibrik or Cezve or the AeroPress.
