Redesigned dual circuit portafilter machine

The Family Home 1G from the French manufacturer Reneka is essentially a two-circuit portafilter machine, but sets itself apart from comparable machines both in terms of design and technology. The extravagant design, designed by Alexander Schulz, catches the eye at first glance. With the curved panels on the sides, its large feet and the sloping bar with the large controls and pressure gauges, the Reneka machine exudes extravagance. The Family Home 1G is reminiscent of a motor yacht or airplane, especially due to the levers and instruments in combination with the cup rail. Technically, the Family Home inspires above all with the unique brewing group, which independently takes over the tamping.

Technical finesse

The Reneka Family Home 1G combines the classic technology of a two-circuit machine with contemporary innovation. Based on the typical structure with a steam boiler and heat exchanger or thermosiphon, the Family Home 1G can draw off espresso and froth milk at the same time. In contrast to dual boiler machines, the Family Home only needs one boiler in which water vapor is generated. The hot water for the espresso is passed through this boiler and thus heated to the right temperature.

Many dual circuit portafilter machines rely on the decades-old Faema E61 brewing group. Reneka, on the other hand, has given the Family Home 1G an in-house brewing group, which is the result of extensive research and development. The innovative and patented Aroma-Perfect brew group does something unique: it does the tamping independently and always perfectly! In contrast to all other portafilter machines, manual tamping before clamping the portafilter is no longer necessary. When starting a draw-off using the middle toggle switch, the brewing group begins to compress the ground coffee using water pressure and spring bearings. The machine then draws top-quality espresso. The automatic tamping is particularly advantageous in situations when several people and less experienced baristas use the machine. The advantage: An additional tamper is not required for the Family Home 1G.
