DRESDEN COFFEE ROASTERY: IT ALL BEGAN VERY SMALL - IN 1999
The Dresden Coffee and Cocoa Roasting Plant started in 1999 with a 5 kg drum roaster. The roastery is located in an old half-timbered house in the Albertstadt district of Dresden. Over time, the capacity of the roastery has steadily increased. In the 2000s, it was still working with a 12 kg roaster, since 2017, a 70 kg oven does all the work.
TRADITION AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
It is important to the roastery to treat the natural product coffee with care. Thus, in the gentle drum roasting process, all the flavors can develop better and the acids and bitter substances are reduced. Since the optimal roasting time of each variety varies, the beans are roasted exclusively by variety at the roastery.
THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENTS: SUSTAINABILITY AND QUALITY
You can argue about taste, but not about quality. According to this motto, all coffees are roasted in a drum roaster in order to be able to present coffee and espresso specialties of the best quality to all coffee connoisseurs. Great importance is attached to treating and roasting the high-quality coffee beans with respect. In addition, environmentally friendly coffee cultivation, fair wages for coffee farmers, fair trade and social commitment are very important to the roastery.
MARMALADE, MILK CHOCOLATE, NUTMEG OR HONEY - THE BLENDS CONVINCE WITH GREAT AROMAS
The blends of the Dresdner Kaffee und Kakao Rösterei convince with intense bodies, full aromas and exciting notes. The MELANGE FILTER has a spicy taste and exciting notes of chocolate, nutmeg and tobacco. For the lovers of sweet blends, the PREMIUM ESPRESSO is a highlight. Notes of jam, milk chocolate and nuts harmonize perfectly. The Dresden roastery also has some great organic coffees. For example, the NATURA BIO ESPRESSO. Organically grown in Peru and Ethiopia, the beans have soft notes of honey and dark grapes.
