FROM A RARITY TO A FAVORITE DRINK

When the couple Guiseppe and Carmela Murgia opened their own small coffee roastery in 1938, it was a true rarity in Sardinia in the city of Cagliari. The product coffee was a novelty on the island, which only the elite could afford.

A VISIT TO THE ROASTERY - A MUST FOR COFFEE LOVERS

Soon the coffee of the roastery La Tazza d'oro became known beyond the city limits of Cagliari throughout Sardinia. For many, if you were in the area, it was a must to pay a visit to the roastery and taste a cup. Steadily growing sales meant that La Tazza d'oro modernized its production in the 1970s and opened a larger factory in Viale Elms. The production capacity was finally further increased and the product range was also expanded, so that gradually every taste preference could be satisfied. A classic with a strong personality is a must for a traditional roaster like La Tazza d'oro. In addition to the first classic, La Tazza d'oro has of course been roasting a full-bodied aromatic coffee MISCELA D'ORO for decades. To appeal to as many tastes as possible, there is a home, bar, office as well as a catering line.

A great advantage of the roastery is the early investment in technology. However, its success is based on the intention never to neglect the human role in the roasting process, because some processes always require a watchful eye. From the pre-production to the roasting process and the mixing of the different products/blends, the attentive human eye always plays a major role in the quality appraisal.
