The family company Macap chose its name over 40 years ago from an acronym: Macina Caffè Petiziol. Macina is the Italian term for grindstone and already presents in the name the main focus of the company: the production of high-quality, massive espresso grinders. The name giver Ottorino Petiziol founded his company in 1930 in the Venetian hinterland, but it was not until the 1980s that the company got its full name, compounded as an acronym.

If Macap espresso grinders had to be described in a few words, those would probably be the very qualities that define them: Aesthetics, modernity and intuitive operation. The espresso grinders are perfectly suitable for the home kitchen, for lovers of fragrant coffee in the upscale entry-level range. They are simple to use, but can still be technically sophisticated. Without overpowering functions, the espresso grinders do exactly what is desired: a professional grinding feeling and result. All Macap products have a solid feel, so they are very robust and feature high-quality workmanship. They are affordable espresso grinders with professional grinding performance thanks to modern grinders. But not only the performance is modern, also the shapes of the espresso grinders are particularly aesthetic and puristic. In addition to espresso grinders, Macap specializes in patented dynamometric tampers that make an excellent team when used with the grinders.

When Ottorino Petiziol started producing espresso grinders in his handicraft workshop, the models were initially intended only for the catering trade and caffè bars. Petiziol's children and later grandchildren recognized the potential and developed the company into what it is today. Susanna and Maco, the two grandchildren are today the face of the family-run manufactory Macap. Which stands for robust and high quality espresso grinders in the advanced entry level range. The ability to innovate has been the key that has brought them the excellent reputation they have today, which allows them to ship their grinders to 70 countries.
