Here comes the sun

The Eureka Helios series is named after the Greek sun god. On the one hand, the reason for this might be the powerful appearance of the professional mills, both optically and technically. The round interface on the front is actually a bit reminiscent of a sun. The Eureka Helios 65 is the smallest version of the Helios and, as its name suggests, is equipped with 65 mm grinding discs. With a grinding capacity of 3.5 to 5 grams per second, it still grinds fast enough for almost any setting and otherwise offers the same features as its larger siblings. Accordingly, it is a reliable coffee grinder that is particularly well suited for espresso and knows how to play to its strengths in professional settings such as a small café or office.

Many possibilities

The heart of the Helios 65 (apart from the grinding chamber) is the round control unit with touchscreen. In the standard view, three dosages or timers can be set and called up here. In addition, there is also a manual mode. Each dose has a counter that shows how many portions have been ground. There are many options in the mill menu that allow you to adjust to your own needs. All settings, as well as the lengths of the timers, can be protected against accidental or unauthorized access with a PIN. In addition, you can set, for example, whether a grinding process can be started using the switch under the ejector, the respective dose buttons on the touchscreen, or both ways. It can even be set whether the portion size 1, 2, or 3 has to be selected before each grinding, or whether the grinder remembers the last selected dose. An automatic reminder to maintain the grinder can also be configured. Finally, the brightness of the display and the color scheme of the surface can be adjusted.

A powerful device

The Eureka Helios 65 is in a 12 kg housing, which is stable with a footprint of 220 by 250 millimeters and a height of 60 centimeters. The large bean container offers space for around 1.2 kg of beans and the grinding discs are driven directly by the motor at 1370 revolutions per minute with a power consumption of 280 watts. As you are used to from Eureka, the degree of grinding can be infinitely and micrometrically precisely adjusted with a rotary wheel. The portafilter fork, in which the portafilter can be clamped freehand, can be adjusted in height so that every portafilter fits. The position of the discharge chute can also be perfectly adjusted to individual needs. Finally, the lighting of the ejection area conveys a high-quality impression.
