Decaffeination at Lavazza

Luigi Lavazza entered the coffee market as early as 1895. Over the years, he studied the nature of the coffee bean to achieve the best possible end result for his coffee. Lavazza has also developed its own standards in the decaffeination process, which removes the caffeine from the pre-roasted bean. The production plant in Pozzilli, Italy, is exclusively dedicated to decaffeinating green coffee. It was founded in 1991. Lavazza has six production plants worldwide: Three in Italy, one in France, one in India and one in Brazil.
